Update on the Anti Covid medicine developed in Sri Lanka – trials to be conducted (Video)

A special discussion was held today (02) with the participation of the Minister of Health Pavithra Devi Wanniarachchi and five State Ministers regarding the medicine developed by a local doctor in Kegalle to control Covid.

>Indigenous physician Dhammika Bandara, who developed the drug, was also present at the discussion held at the Ministry of Health in Battaramulla.

Ayurvedic doctor Dhammika Bandara, a resident of Kegalle, was able to develop a local medicine to control the coronavirus and a preliminary investigation was carried out with the intervention of a team of Western doctors.

The drug was administered to patients who volunteered at the Covid 19 Treatment Center in Wathupitiwala and tests were carried out on it.

The drug was discussed at the Task Force meeting chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday and the President has instructed that a formal examination be carried out regarding the medicine.

Accordingly a special discussion was held at the Ministry of Health at 2.00 pm today to discuss this matter.

The Minister of Health has pointed out that in order to make this medication available to Sri Lanka as well as to the whole world, research should be carried out in accordance with scientific methods and a series of proposals should be prepared in this regard.

An expert committee was appointed to expedite the preparation of the proposal and Prof. Senaka Pilapitiya was appointed as its chairman.
