Gazette to be issued lifting ban on ‘Angampora’

The Cabinet today (14) approved a proposal to issue a Gazette lifting the ban on ‘Angampora’ martial art, a traditional game that was banned under British rule.

The relevant proposal was tabled by the Minister of Sports.

A similar proposal to lift the ban imposed on the game was approved in 2019, however the relevant Gazette is yet to be published.
