Our Parliament is again beating the dead horse of the Easter bombings when the people are beating their breasts on the travails of living. The debate is all about a  Brains (the Maha Mola Karr- MMK) behind the horrible deed. What was his objective? Was it an evil political strategy to gain the support of the Catholic community? What were the objectives of Zahran Hashim the leader of the Jihadist group for the suicide attack? It appears that Zahran had two objectives, one been killing as many Catholics as possible at prayers in response to the shooting of Muslims at prayers in a Mosque in New Zealand. It tallies with a political strategy to obtain the sympathy of the Catholics.

It is submitted that Zahran had two objectives the second one was to hurt the economy. This would have been his primary objective. He blasted himself and used another important colleague Ilham Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim to bomb the key target the Shangri-La Hotel. Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury were also blasted by members of Zahran’s closely knit group of educated and wealthy Jihadists whereas local Muslim extremists were enlisted to attack churches.

Zahran’s action on the first objective hurt the Catholic community disastrously whereas the attack on the hotels affected the whole nation. The tourist industry crashed and contributed to a foreign exchange crisis and the final bankruptcy of the country.

Now the question is did the fictitious Maha Mola Karu encourage this no brainer.

No politician would have been so stupid. Now, nobody seems to bother about the attack on the tourist industry.

Which foreign power wanted to bring down Sri Lanka.
