   Yes; Gotabaya was in the country. Sirisena is wrong in that. However, he is partly correct about Fonseka and Mahinda who were absent on some crucial days in May 2009.

   Don’t place too much emphasis on what Fonseka says here. He made a public statement in January 2010 alleging Gotabaya ordered to shoot them (surrendered terrorists which is a war crime). Now he is trying to be consistent with that allegation.

   Fonseka’s supporters (at least 4) have been arrested recently on possession of narcotics and weapons. Now he seems to trying to join the other political camp for his own survival.

   One thing I noticed is Fonseka has been consistent.

   1. He always insisted “strong armed forces” and he wanted to make it stronger after the war but Mahinda kicked him out. Even now he is insisting this which is right.

   2. He always said Gota is responsible for overall running of armed forces, but he siad “men in a/c rooms’ didn’t win the war and he (Fonseka) himself is the mastermind.

   3. He said South Indian politicians as bunch of jokers.

   How could Sirisena take the command when Gota is there ? Whole country knows this, he can’t fool people of Sri Lanka.
