Are we living today in Sri Lanka that was there on the 8th January, 2015 ?
8th January, 2015 seems a long time ago.
Since the Minister of Health of the former President Mahinda Rajapakse’s Government left stealthily in the night without even a word to the mat on which he slept (peduratath nokiya), to join a band of reactionary America and West inspired traitors, Sri Lanka commenced a downward journey, sacrificing its sovereignty, independence, fast growing economy, massive development projects and a peaceful march towards the happiness of the people, progress and prosperity.
Sirsena now says that under President Mahinda Rajapakse no-cabinet Minister could act freely, and that he had been questioned about his Ministerial work.
President Sirisena speaking at the occasion reminisced at how meeting with trade union leaders were looked upon at under the previous regime. He noted that while serving as the Minister of Health if he met with any trade union leaders, the following day he would receive a telephone call from Temple Trees questioning his actions. ”
That shows that the former President Mahinda Rajapakse was an intelligent man taking interest in the work of the Minister of his Cabinet, to know how they contribute to the welfare of the people they have been elected to serve. That is a quality of leadership. Under President Sirisena, Ministers do just what they want without hardly a question asked by the President.
This illegal Government set in place by a President who was elected with a resounding minority vote from the North and East of the country has failed to maintain law and order. Case in point is the activities of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe he appointed.
Ranil Wicramasinghe the Prime Minister of the President Sirisena has begun to question even the sentences passed by the Supreme Court stating that the judgments of the judiciary will be forward to a foreign court of law for their approval. That is sacrificing the Sovereignty of Sri Lanka.
There is a special police force the FCID under him, which arrests and releases whoever Ranil Wickramasinghe wants to be taken into police custody. Most Vulnerable are the family members of the former President Mahinda Rajapakse, or Wives of Ministers. Prime Minister defends he wants when every thing points to his guilt, such as the Suprime Court decision to refuse to here a case against the Governor of the Central Bank.
Sri Lanka has become a dictatorship of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe . It is time that the people begin to speak out against him to change the situation as there is no more democracy, or Justice in Sri Lanka. People can be accused for the flimsiest matter and taken to police first for recording statements and arrested thereafter to be placed in remand jail.
And finally when the cases are taken up and if the sentences by the Judges are not to the liking of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe proposes sending the judicial decision for approval of the Commonwealth Office.
The former Minister G.L.Pieris had said with regard to the SC decision not to allow Gotabhaya Rajapakse to be arrested until the end of the FR case that, the Premier Wickremesinghe asserted that Sri Lanka could consult Commonwealth Judges Association as well as Commonwealth Magistrates’ Association regarding the Supreme Court directive in this regard. He pointed out that President Maithripala being the current chair of the Commonwealth. The Prime Minister stressed that if given the opportunity, he could easily defend the government position.”
Sri Lanka under President Sirisena and his acolyte Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasignhe appear to be a kind of a Revolutionary Junta State. People begin to ask whether this is the ‘venasa’- the Change the people expected when they voted to elect Maithripala Sirisena in preference to Mahinda Rajapakse ?
Sri Lanka has become such a police state today that it had never been Since its Independence. People live in fear of arrest, and open the daily paper not to see what progress country has made, what school, roads, bridges and hospitals are being opened, but to see who is the innocent man that has been arrested recently and against whom and what defamatory statements have been made or against whom false allegations have been levelled.
A doctor with whom I was when it was announced that the Diyawadane Nilema was accused asked, when is this comedy going to end ? Who will they think of next ?
That is how good things are with President Sirisena’s Government !!!
Perhaps the President Sirisena does not know most of what disastrous actions are being taken behind his back by the set of UNP Minister under him, hence Sirisena seems to leave what he does not understand in the hands of his UNP Ministers without questions being asked. For instance does he know what transpired between John Kerry and Mangala Samaraweera and what promises the latter had made to the former ?
Sirisena’s UNP Ministers; and Deputy Ministers are acting most stupidly like Ranjan Ramanayake for instance trespassing into a Meditation Centre, or enter Hotels with hidden cameras abusing their powers without the President Sirisena knowing absolutely nothing about those incidents. Or Mangala Samaraweera claiming that the former President had siphoned off 18 billion US Dollars.
Is President Sirisena proud about such statements of Mangala, Sajith, Kabir , Ranjan or Rajitha ?
President Sirisena is a laughing stock for his UNP Ministers. Poor man ! he is like the Greek King who is said to have been going about naked believing highly those who spoke praisingly of a dress he was not wearing.
How can Basil Rajapakse be accused for distribution of Divineguma Funds when Sajith is doing the same thing to-day ? Is there any rhyme or reason in their accusations, calling to be present to take a statement and end up being arrested, apparently not for any crime but because they were in some way Connected to the former President Mahinda Rajapakse.
This is all vengeance of a bad man, against a good man.
But little they seem to understand that the Maitripala Sirisena’s UNP government has neither the legal right to exist as a government of Sri Lanka , nor have they even the moral right to pretend to be the Ministers of the people. They had been there for more than 100 days and there is absolutely no reason for them to continue. They should step down taking along with them the FCID and the Bribery Commissioner.
Making defamatory statements have become the practice of the Ministers of the President Sirisenaincluding the Prime Minister. None other than the Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakse himself makes unsubstantiated accusations without the slighted proof.
It was reported that, Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC yesterday alleged that Rs. 3,300 million had been misappropriated from the Department of the Public Trustee (DPT) during the previous regime. Speaking at the ceremony to welcome the newly appointed Sri Lanka’s first female Public Trustee Tharangani Keenawinna Dissanayake at the department, he said the recent audits had revealed thousands of rupees were improperly taken from DPT for development projects by the previous government ”.
If he is a man worthy of the position he holds he should refrain from making such statements. He should first investigate to have reliable information before making accusatory statements.
The other Minister is the former dentist Rajitha Senaratne, who was reported to have claimed that, ……. he was offered a bribe of Rs 20 million per month in order to cover up the ‘Avant-Garde’ issue. ……….. He has added that the individuals who attempted to bribe him earn a monthly income of around Rs 250 million”. Of course this has to be taken with a pinch of salt as most of his statements, because it was further reported that, ……Refusing to divulge any names, Dr. Senaratne alleged that because the attempt to bribe him had failed they had spread a story accusing his son of detaining an underage girl.’
The crust of it is that Senaratne is trying to cover up his moral shame for having allowed his son to kidnap a teen age girl and keep her in his own house.
The best thing he could have done was to hand over the matter to the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe’s police force the FCID, instead of making false statements to make them sound true.
The other white knight in Ranil’s cabinet is Champika Ranawake who wants Sri Lanka to imitate the West. He is reported to have said, Our politicians want to stay in power till they die without letting fresh faces come forward. If they think more progressively and step down it will be better for the future of our country,” Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Power and Energy said, adding that, ‘Sri Lankan politicians can take a good example from the British politicians and the way they acted following the elections that was concluded earlier this month (May),”
Champika Ranawaka should have said that to his champion the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe who was rejected 29 times by the people.
Sirisena-Ranil government has miserably failed to make the people of this country happy for even a day. Though they- the President and Ranil’s UNP Ministers in tie and black suits seem to be enjoying their lives as they seem to have never enjoyed ever before.
The people of the North and the East and the Tamil diaspora they thought were utterly satisfied with their selling out the provinces to the TNA and they have no fear from that side. But they have got the surprise( only if they are not fools and would understand what lies under the statement) of their lives in the statement issued by the TGTE.
It was reported that, In a rebuttal to the Sri Lankan Minister’s Statement, TGTE member Suthan Raj pointed out that when President Maithripala Sirsena was visiting London, thousands of Tamils demonstrated against him, calling him a war criminal, for being the acting defense minister during the final weeks of the war when thousands of Tamils were killed. Thousands also marched in Geneva two months ago against the Sri Lankan Government’s policies towards Tamils and to call for an International Investigation for the mass killing of Tamils by the Sri Lankan security forces.”
Well Mr.President Maithripala Sirisena do you not think that it is time that you wake up to reality and kick out Ranil, his no-good UNP Ministers in tie and coat, and all the rest, and put your pride in the pocket to invite the former President Mahinda Rajapakse to form a duo to govern Sri Lanka together and bring back the pride Sri Lanka enjoyed as a developing Nation after elimination of the terrorists and up to the 8th of January, 2015.
Otherwise Sri Lanka has no future existence as an independent Sovereign Sate.

There are 3 HARD FACTS we must not run away from.
1. MR is NOT in parliament. SO he CANNOT be the PM.
2. IF MR wins the most seats in parliament at the upcoming election he MUST BE the PM according to what is RIGHT. But MR should promise to SCRAP 13 amendment to WIN the election. Otherwise he CANNOT get the CRITICAL MAJORITY of votes. GAME OVER if he doesn’t.
3. Even if he promises to SCRAP 13 amendment AND wins (as a result) MOST seats in parliament, Maru Sira has said he cannot make him the PM. Endia and USA want Run-nil. Also Maru Sira fears to appoint MR as PM. He will NEVER do that.
The problem is Maru Sira. Run-nil is just a PARASITE living on Maru Sira.

Ranil the Gobel cannot ride in a car nowadays.He use the helicopter even to go 50 miles with his yankee doodles.
Sira like a kindergarten boy complains about harassment he faced during the previous Govt.
Choura is complaining that everything of hers have been taken during previous Govt.
Rajitha the Dentist is complaining that he was not allowed to work freely during the previous Govt.
Champaka is telling he didn’t get what he deserves during the previous Govt. So all these traitors now have freedom to do what ever they wish because no one to give instructions or ask any questions as a captain of the team.No team work because there’s is no proper captain to lead.Whole team has become captains and they play what ever stroke they like or prefer. This shit liars are making us looks like fools. Sinhalese shouldn’t get fooled by this lot anymore.We must rally round the most popular fearless only leader we had and have to help to bring our country back to where we stopped as soon as possible if not these traitors will change everything what we achieved during ten years of MR rule. Can anybody tell me where is the honest politician in the world. An honest politician cannot survive in politics for five minutes. All politicians are nasty, filthy and smell very bad. If Mahinda Rajapakse is in the right frame of mind, he should retire from politics gracefully. If he had done that, none of his family get into a soup like Basil. Basil got what he deserves. Gota got what he deserves from the Supreme Court Order as he has earned a name of Lee Kwan Lee of Colombo. Well done Gota. The cynthetic lawyer and his murderer brother are yet to suffer the consequences. Have the people forgotten how the synthetic lawyer spent U$500000000 grant by India(a trade facility)? All rouges and nothing but the rouges. MR is not clen. Have you forgotten the “helping Hambantota”? Atleast Gota cleaned the City of Colombo.

I agree “Enough is Enough”. It is time the majority make a stand (I am not referring only to the Sinhalese Buddhist, but all those who love the country). Irrespective of when and how the No confidence motion against the pickpocket will play or not, we need a change of government. We voted for one man and what did we end up with. Hijacking of the whole country.
If we don’t take any action very soon SL will be doomed. We have to start work stoppages and other non-violent ways to show our displeasure. We need to demand a fresh election as what MY3 is doing is not what he promised. Mahinda too should take steps to take control of the SLFP and give leadership to the leaderless SLFP MPs in parliament. I was in agreement with Mahinda giving up SLFP leadership enabling the PAMBAYA / RUKADAYA to exhibit his leadership qualities. As Charles says even for this sorry state of the SLFP “Enough is Enough”.
I don’t care even if a “Charlie Hebdo” is re-enacted, because Sri Lankans are going to be perished in their thousands very soon. Before the innocent get killed, kill those who are responsible to bring instability to the country.

I do not know any reason why bring out the 13A into the light at this stage. It is not at all good advice. It may be a sure way of driving away some voters. Best is to leave it for the moment and first take over power from the UNP holding onto it illegaly and unconstitutionally. There may be time later to go for a new Constitution. Therefore first thing first, try to get Sirisena to fall in line with Mahinda against the America-West centered trime virate-Ranil-Chandrika-Mangala.

Let me explain.
1. MR needs a CATCHY SLOGAN to turn the tide sufficiently. In 2004 and 2005 it was a HONORABLE PEACE as opposed to CFA. I have not seen such a POWERFUL SLOGAN from MR camp that can RIDICULE corruption allegations, nepotism allegations, etc. and rise above all these nonsense.
2. UNP will soon get Maru Sira to DISSOLVE PCs and hold elections. MR party will get WIPED OUT in it. So no use holding on to PCs. Instead SACRIFICE it when he can and win the people. BILLIONS can be saved by scrapping these.
Now govt. servants salaries are DELAYED. NO MONEY to pay them. Not even pensions!!! Pamankade Ravi has NO BRAINS to think HOW to pay them next month. These fools cannot borrow every month to pay salaries!!
By dissolving these USELESS PCs money can be saved that can be used to pay salaries.
3. 13 amendment was imposed by Endia. It uses it to divide SL. By promising to SCRAP it all the traitors will go bonkers.
There was a time when ALL patriots demanded to SCRAP 13 amendment. What happened? Now only a very few die hard patriots demand it. VERY SAD. Country before party!!

Don’t bring 13A now. As mentioned a few times before, the current set of opposition MPs showed great courage in watering down 19A. Our aim should be to get the right people in to the legislature. They will do the business of abolishing 13A, publicity before hand could jeopardise the chances. Dinesh Gunawardena who was never after power, showed great character and he is a worthy Prime Ministerial or a Presidential candidate.
It is more important to sack My3 from the SLFP and to restore the party under a worthwhile leader (my best bet is MR). Now most of the people who voted for My3 are sick of him and the pickpocket UNP. Their votes will go to other parties, so we have to recognise another party with a wider appeal (if My3 cannot be ousted from SLFP) to contest elections.
The best propaganda ticket of My3 camp (UNP/JVP/JHU) was corruption. It has become a joke in the country for FCID to lock up innocent people while the biggest HORA of the country, CB governor is free to open branches of the CB in Kilinocchi. The last few months, made the electorate way more wiser than the words could ever do.

You have not said WHY 13 should not be brought up now. I remember in 2004 and 2005 some people said not to go against CFA because that will divide the voters. But MR went against it and WON. He did NOT scrap it immediately though after election but he eventually did.
Some people also said NOT to go against PTOMS but MR DID.
People want a COURAGEOUS LEADER not just a CBK who is good at pointing others problems without a proper solution.

It is ironical that some of the people who made Victory Day (or Remembrance Day, it does not really matter) possible are behind bars or accused of unproven ‘crimes’ and possibly awaiting arrest ! What kind of dud govt does Lanka have ?
No wonder interested foreigners see Lanka ripe for the taking with such weak and stupid leaders as at present. Watch it Lanka present leaders – if you do not correct the situtation and go on ‘divide & rule’ of the country, all Lankans will pay dearly.

Reluctantly though I accept the Americans, British and the rest in which confrontational attitude is dead and gone. Tension with the Lanka lovers is no more. Patriotic Sri Lankans are at ease now.

I agree with you Kumari. 13A now would be a trap to make MR loose votes. We have to go more silently towards it. In the meantime prepare SLFP atleast a break away part of it support MR really. The fear is the North and East Tamil block votes against MR. But if the Sinhala Buddhists could be convinced that the way out of the mess that we are in is through MR.
Budget changes to improve living conditions by Ranil’s UNP wouild be baits to fool the masses. At the moment people are thoroughly fed up with this Maithri-Ranil set up. If they cannot see it they are blind.. It wants only a strow to tilt the balance.

People who put the country first will want MR promise to attack 13A PLUS and forget about the votes of 1-9 above.

How on earth removing 13 amendment be a trap?
We are talking about a PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION. NOT a presidential election. MR can NEVER become president again because maximum presidential terms are 2 now.
The NORTH EAST and UPCOUNTRY Tamil vote AND eastern Muslim vote do not matter. TNA will win all seats in Jaffna, all except 1 seat in Vanni, all except 1 seat in Batti, 2 seats in Trinco and 1 in Amparei. SLMC will win MOST seats from Trinco and Amparei. 1 from Batti.
There are just 2 seats from entire north and east to be won. MR can win 1 seat from Amparei and POSSIBLY 1 from Trinco. THAT IS ALL. After saving UNGRATEFUL PARASITES from the LTTE, the north and east will give MR only 2 seats!! That too NOT from Tamil speaking voters.
MR should concentrate on the SINGHALA vote ONLY. GIVE UP ALL others. They are NOT going to vote for MR. NO Tamil votes. NO Muslim votes from elsewhere too. Please understand this.
SCRAPPING PCs and 13 amendment can ONLY make him MORE POPULAR among Singhalese (the people who will vote for him). MR has NOTHING to lose from minorities.
Don’t be fooled by PRABHA GONASON. He couldn’t get votes for MR in January 2015. He is there to STOP MR reaching his potential. We all know his brother’s LTTE connections.
At least now MR should BOLDLY take a stand and STOP trying to be everything to everyone.
Look what happened to ED MILIBAND by going after every minority voter!! Look what happened to MODI who concentrated ONLY on the majority.

My dear Charles, I didnot support MR in the first occasion because of Helping Hambantota issue. But I supported him fully in the second occassion because of winning the war.Towards the latter part of his second term I saw him not interested in the 13th amendment or trimming of the wings of the excecutive presidency. Instead he only tried to secure his third term. His lose was self inflicted and nobody is to be blamed except MR. The corrupt family and his stoogers including his greed for power made me sick in my stomach. I lost the entire confidence I had in him when I received his negative reaction to my efforts to go at the racist TNA. You know quite well how much of time and efforts I made in that issue. Respectfully and gracefully MR must retire in politics. My honest opinion is that Piyadasa Wijedasa and Karunanayagam also must leave. I am sorry Charles I cannot agree with you on this occassion

People forget what a mess MR govt inherited from the past ! They accuse MR of ‘political greed’ conveniently putting aside the fact that MR, the armed forces & MR govt still stand accused of War Crimes that did not happen. LTTE fighters in CIVILIAN CLOTHING died in the last war, and they were counted as TAMIL CIVILIANS. LTTE also shot their own Tamil Human Shield when they fled to safety of the Army side. These facts were conveniently thrust aside !
The bottom lines of the so called “Tamil Problem” has to be addressed if solutions are to be found. There are many side issues latched onto the central ‘Tamil Problem” of the Caste Structure coming from Tamil Nadu. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka past leaders have let the Brit Colonial caused problem of importing cheap “Tamil labor” escalate and others, local and foreign interests, have made personal gains using this weakness.
The ancient belief that Caste is lost when sea water is crossed was the staring point of all troubles. Tamil leaders on both sides of the Palk Sts conveniently stated that Tamil only Eelam will solve all the problems with ex-colonists applauding such thinking, for obvious reasons.
The Tamil language as a National/Official language will have to be removed from Lanka if some headway has to be made to solve the problem in a bloodless manner.

Accusing MR, Armed Forces & MR govt of War Crimes, allegations of financial crimes etc are all DISTRACTIONS, to take the public mind away from the REAL PROBLEM OF EELAM FORMATION. Even the coming Elections are a Distraction from the REAL problem.
India has been consciously or unconsciously exporting an ‘army of Dalit people’ out of India for hundreds of years on the notion of “losing Caste by crossing sea water”. Sri Lanka has been one of the victim countries. Nepal’s indigenous people have complained that the recent earth quake there may be due to Indian Dalits there performing animal sacrifices.
I hope no one does anything rash. I hope all follow the rule of Law, respects Life, and extricates Lanka out of this mess. Opportunists are waiting for slips to happen to ruin Lanka and her People. There are BLOODLESS WAYS to solve the Problem. Let’s Do It !

MR could have done BETTER from 2010 to 2015.
e.g. Soldiers were not given a sufficient salary increase for winning the war. Money wasted on TNA VOTERS should have gone to soldiers. Since the end of the war, 30,000+ soldiers have deserted ranks due to low pay and poor conditions.
e.g. During the election time, disabled soldiers went in a march to temple trees demanding correct pension. Why did we allow this to happen while TNA Vigneswarans drawing MILLIONS in salaries.
I was against jailing Gonzeka from the start. Other punishments OK. He has his problems but MR should have handled them amicably without throwing him in jail and stripping his HARD EARNED credentials working for 40 years.

if some headway has to be made to solve the problem in a bloodless manner- We-Tamil are waiting for that day ! Our independent day of TE !!!
We-Tamil never support 13A that why kicked out IPKF even they offered NEP in gold plate .

I am against bringing 13A to the election campaign for the main reason that the INGOs, NGOs and other foxes can twist it to scare the innocent Tamils. We have seen how dirty and low grade the last election campaign was. Without a shred of evidence headline news get created. The minds of the electorate was hijacked by propaganda (and media) the same way this illegal government hijacked the entire country after Jan 8th.
This JRJ constitution was created to fit in the people who were in power at that time. It had no long term vision. At the time JRJ left, already 13 Amendments have come. That was in a matter of about 10 years. All the presidents inherited this piece of paper and tried to do their best. Though I am not a constitutional expert, in my opinion this constitution created more problems to the country and to its politicians.
This is why I keep saying getting the right people into the legislature is more important. Then they can look at the big picture and draft a more permanent constitution for a Unitary Sri Lanka. It is better to be together without getting sidelined by those with hidden agendas.
I don’t know why some Tamils and Muslims want to separate, I regret not studying in a mixed environment from a young age. My friends from other communities are as rich/poor as I am but we share a common bond called Humanity and Love which is much more valuable than everything else.
13A should not be Mahinda’s problem, it is our problem (therefore the problem of the entire legislature/parliament).

So what? Tamils are NOT going to vote for MR ANYWAY. MR has NOTHING to lose. On the other hand millions of Singhalese will VOTE FOR MR for that.
Mark my word IF MR camp DOES NOT take up SCRAPPING 13 amendment the next election outcome will NOT change from January 2015.
We KEEP complaining how Viggie, etc. are trying to divide the country using 13 amendment. But what are we going to do? Blame Maru Sira and go to sleep? Blame Endia and go to sleep?
MR should take up OUR PROBLEMS and 13 amendment is the BIGGEST THREAT facing SL. In september UNHRC will release its war crimes report framing 40 of our BEST war heroes as war criminals. TNA will perfectly time their UNILATERAL DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE with the 2 provincial councils now having a TNA controlling majority.
IF MR takes up the task of SAVING SL, people will vote for him over 6 million.
IF he says it is NOT my problem but the people’s problem, then very few will vote.
