Victory Day and Remembrance Day are two different occasions!

20 May 15

The recently commemorated ANZAC day is a remembrance day – in fact a day to remember an ignominious and yet honorable defeat of the allied forces – mainly Australian and New Zealanders in Turkey. On the other hand Victory Day or VE Day  8-9 May were celebrated throughout Russia, Europe and US to remember and commemorate the victory over Nazism in Europe.

We can have every day of the year as Remembrance Days for all those who died during 30 years of Tamil Racist Terrorist inspired war that was unleashed on the Sri Lankan people. We all can have different days for personal reasons  – indeed in many homes in Sri Lanka there will be such days  spread throughout the year.  There are families who have more than one day a year. We can also have one day for collective remembrance, but that should not be 19 May!

There can only be one Victory Day that is – 19 May. This is the day when LTTE terrorists were vanquished in toto, in the battle field  on the banks of the Nanthi Kadal lagoon on 19 May 2009.  A tired nation breathed a sigh of relief in the belief after 30 unfortunate years the spectre of Terrorism is finally over. From this day onwards people of Sri Lanka whether – Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim or other have enjoyed the freedom of being able to walk the length and breadth of their motherland without fear or favor.

It is a shame that those who enjoy the fruits of that victory failed to commemorate the day with due reverence and left it for the unpatriotic politicians to vilify and call it  – Remembrance Day.

The following is how one such excuse for a human being of the United Christian Party remembered the Victory Day.

What this man says or mostly not say speaks volumes for the Colombians who now administer the government.

What can we expect from the likes of Ranil Wickramasinghe, Mangala Samaraweera, Rajitha Senaratne, Chandrika Kumaranatunge, Maithripala Sirisena  and from the ruling United Christian Party aka UNP. What right have these imposters to take the salute of the victorious Armed Forces of Sri Lanka on 19 May? These are the traitor  who called Killinochchi – Madawachchiya, Alimankada – Pamankada and Thoppigala a mere stretch of jungle! Victory Day is not a day for those who cannot distinguish between a man and woman, nor for those who are confused as to who  are heroes, patriots and traitors.

The traitors are working 24/7 in collusion with Western Powers to transform our Armed Forces to be once again a ceremonial force. This will make their handlers in India and the Christian West happy and pave way for the dismemberment and balkanization of Sri Lanka. High Security Zones are being dismantled and increasingly our Armed Forces are told to restrict themselves to their barracks. They are also advocating that our Armed Forces should be sent around the world to be used as cannon fodder into their former conflict zones.

It is not right to think that Nanthi Kadal was the end of LTTE threat nor the attempts by the Western Christian nations to dismember Sri Lanka.  The LTTE terrorist moneymaking machine is still active in Western Countries, despite the fact that LTTE is deemed banned in these countries.

Sri Lankans must celebrate the Victory Day again on 19 May 2016 with due reverence. All right thinking Sri Lankans must work towards that day from now onwards. People have seen the farce of Yaha Palanaya even before the 100 days were over.

Namaste: All Sinhalese should celebrate the victory Day. It is a Victory against the Indian Imperialism. Let us tell the world the truth. Indian colonial parasites in the island are no different to Indian Colonial Parasites in other Indian Colonies. Jai Hind

There is SOME good done by Maru Sira.

He held the remembrance/victory day in MATARA – Mongala’s electorate!! Mongala said no country commomorates civil wars!!

That must be a SLAP on his face.

Whatever day it is called, for Tamils it is an insult. So the end result is same.

Well done Maru Sira for holding a memorial and raising the SL flag on the day.

The great German nation does not consider commemorating the Victory Day by the victorious Allied Forces a slur on them. A great majority of them do not identify with the Fascist Nazis or their ideology today. However you cannot consider a great majority of Tamils in the same way. It is quite clear from their work and thinking that they have no qualms about using Terrorism against innocent civilians as a means to achieve their Eelam goal and they have not in anyway shown remorse nor apologised for such dastardly crimes.

Victory Day over fascist LTTE cannot be equated to a remembrance day that remembers all the war dead including those Tamils who became victims of the LTTE.Nowhere in the world people have a remembrance day for those who are universally accepted as terrorists.

Victory Day is a milestone and not an event!

19th of may is a significant day for Sri Lanka, as that was the day the LTTE secessionists on Sri Lankan soil were annihilated and Sri Lanka regained democracy, peace, security and dignity. The present regime has leaders, who ridiculed the armed forces to demoralise them at a time it was a life and death situation for the army, by making denigrating statements such as the territory captured from the Tigers were “not Killinochchi but Madawachchiya, not Alimankada but Pamankada and not Thoppigala but a rock covered with jungle” etc.! Therefore, how can they now call these events were victories over the terrorist secessionists, other than to call 19th May as merely “remembrance day of the dead” and attend these celebratory functions, for political compulsions. We still do not know whether some of these leaders are patriots or traitors.

    I agree with Mr Sooriarachi.
When cornered, the same “kolloppang” is made by the present Boru-palanaya with other serious topics too. I am coming to a point where I am doubtful that anything of worth will be achieved by the present illegal govt. with elections put back for September.
Why till September ? What is the significance of September ? is Lanka drifting into a space of no return re Federal State for Tamils ?

  6. Christie Says:

Hi Folks; I am the only Sinhala fool to see the Indian terrorist arm, trained, armed, managed, financed and branded Tamil Tigers by India. I am a person who have lived in Western countries for more than forty five years and have seen, watched and associated with Indian Imperialists and what they do when it come to colonies of the Indian Empire. We wiped out the Indian terrorist arm on 19 May 2009. Indian Empire has not given up its efforts to wipe out the Sinhala people from the earth as you have seen in the past elections. They are doing it in this forum, or they have brain washed us to do the work for them. Who have to clearly understand Tamils are Indians like Tamils in Malaya, Singapore or in Fiji to mention a few.
