Will JVP get naked on April 4th?

Ending the Balagiri Doshaya”, No Confidence Motion (NCM) against the PM Ranil Wickramasinghe has handed over to the speaker by Joint Opposition. Credit should go to the MP Udaya Gammanpila for his tireless efforts to make this NCM a reality. According to Mr. Gammanpila’s own words, this is a Win Win” motion, irrespective of the outcome (Dinuwath Dinum, Peradunath Dinum”).
According to the news reports, this NCM contains 14 allegations against the PM Ranil Wickramasinghe and 13 out of 14 allegations are based on the Central Bank bond scam. These include allegations such as paving the way for the bond scam by removing the Central Bank from the finance ministry and placing it under the PM, appointing Arjun Maheandran who is a non- citizen of Sri Lanka for the position of Governor of the Central Bank, protecting Arjun Mahendran, misleading parliament, excreting pressure on COPE members etc, etc. When look at these allegations, even a kid in grade ten can understand that a person like Ranil Wickramasinghe is not suitable for the position of the PM in Sri Lanka. Because of this NCM, a golden opportunity has arisen for the true representatives of the people of Sri Lanka to chase this cunning PM away from the premiership. Also, it will be a great opportunity for the electorate to understand the true colour of their representatives.
Most of the credit for fighting to the end for bringing the bond scam to the public domain should go to the COPE chairman, JVP member MP Sunil Handunnetthi. However, the recent comments from the JVP leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake about the NCM were not very impressive. Knowingly Rajapakse supporters are behind the NCM, Anura Kumara wanted to see the inclusion of inability of the PM to make Rajapakses guilty for the so-called frauds happened during the previous administration as an allegation in the NCM. This reminds the Sinhala saying Nokerena wedakamata konduru thel hath pattayak ona kiyanawa wage”.
Yahapalana government had more than two years to find out the frauds (if there were any) done by Rajapakses. Yahapalanaya rulers tried their best and even with the assistance of their international big brothers, they found nothing except the Sil Redi case against a couple of poor public servants. If stealing the public money took place, that was not only during the Rajapakse administration, it would have happened during the era of J R Jayewardene and even beyond. So, there is no point of demanding to add a clause to find out about the possible frauds which happened only during the Rajapakse regime for the current NCM. It is ridiculous to ask for a pound of flesh” to vote for this no confidence motion which is based on the Central Bank bond scam already proved in front of a Presidential commission.
PM Ranil Wickramasinghe tried his best to put the investigations of the Central Bank bond scam under the carpet. Luckily, this was prevented by the COPE, chaired by the JVP member MP Sunil Handunnetthi. So, if the JVP is going to vote against or abstain from voting for this NCM, it will be recorded in the history as the worst betrayal by JVP under the leadership of MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
April is a very important month for the JVP. It is the month of remembrance for them. This historical no confidence motion against PM Ranil Wickramasinghe will be debated and voted on April 4th. If the JVP is going to vote against or abstain from voting for this motion, Anura Kumara and his clan should celebrate their next Ilmaha Samaruwa” naked. Hope, it will not happen.

Anura Kumara can not support it against their Pay Master’s will.
He is still trying to mislead his followers by quoting “fabricated” Rajapaksa’s thefts. He was then responsible as he was in the governing council of the Yahaps. Hope JVP grass root level operators will not buy his excuse.
He is in a position of never return.

JVP cannot support Ranil or abstain from voting. JVP must support the no confidence motion though I have serious doubt about JVP action. As a commentator here mentioned (Ananda?) and also by the JVP leader, the contents of the no confidence motion is disappointing. There are far grave reasons for removing Ranil. However, that is not an excuse not to support the no confidence motion! If the contents are accurate, which they are, JVP must support it.
However, JVP MP Bimal Ratnayake made a true observation on Mahinda. He said Mahinda was as reluctant as a cow taken to be slaughtered when he (after many delays) handed over the NCM to the Speaker. This is true. He didn’t even vote or sign the NCM against Ravi in 2016. As another commentator said Mahinda was forced by Sirisena to present the NCM after Sirisena realised the hard way (from the Supreme Court) that he cannot remove the PM after 19A! And he cannot dissolve the parliament either until his term has ended. This too was realised by the Supreme Court interpretation.
The only way Sirisena can remove the PM is if a NCM against him is passed. Mahinda is doing Sirisena a favour, reluctantly. In return Sirisena will not proceed with corruption, etc. allegations against Mahinda and family. Mahinda is also aware of a bigger constitutional connundrum in early 2020 where the next president will be at the mercy of the UNP majority parliament.

Do you know why people say JVP is the fraction of UNP?
Look at this statement….
They have the same feeling about MR , just like UNP , but showing it in a different style.
UNP has given a contract to JVP to attract as much as possible the Anti UNP votes.
In the last election they got 600,000 of such votes.. This is money for them.
We all were supporting JVP sometime back ,but understood their way of earnings.

So Bimal Rathnayake is right – Mahinda didn’t sign the no confidence motion against Ranil. Hopefully he will be present on April 4 in parliament and vote for the no confidence motion.
All those who fail to vote for the no confidence motion against Ranil are supporters of corruption, treason and other disasters blamed on Ranil. The world is a bad place because good men are silent.
Ranjan Ramanayake made an excellent speech in parliament blasting shortcomings of the legal system. Whatever his personal issues are his facts are accurate. Sri Lanka is a lawless republic. People are mislead by the corrupt saying that the new courts planned to set up are to try war criminals! This is absurd. These courts are to try those who committed crimes against the nation.

Most in Parliament are not clean. Ranjan said the truth. Judges are corrupt and some are criminals. People have no where to trun to.

වර්ථමාන කොමිෂන් සභාව 2014 දී වූ මේ සිද්ධිය පිළිබඳව අධ්යයනය කර, නිකුත් කර තිබෙන නිර්දේශයන්, පොලිස් වධහිංසා පැමිණවීම ආයතනික වූවක් බව තහවුරු කරයි. පොලිස්පති වගකිව යුතු බව කියයි.
මෙම තරුණයා සමාජයේ කොන්වූ ජන කොටසට අයත් වූවෙකි. කිසි දිනෙක පාසල් ගොස් නැත. හරක් බලා ගැනීම හා අසල්වැසියන්ට බැලමෙහෙවරකම් කර දිවි ගැටගහ ගනී. දැනට 26 වැනි වියේ පසුවෙති. තවමත් අවිවාහකය. විටින් විට පොලිසිය මොහුට අඩත්තෙට්ටම් කරයි.
ඔහු ලබා තිබෙන පන්නරය නිසා, එ් සෑම අවස්ථාවකම පොලීසිය අභියෝග කිරීමට පසුබට නොවෙති.
මානව හිමිකම් කොමිෂන් සභාවේ නිර්දේශයට අනුව, පොලිස්පතිට ගෙවන්න නියම කර තිබෙන රු: 10,000/= වන්දිය, ඔහු විඳි වධෙවිදනාවලට කිසිසේත්ම සාපේක්ෂ නැත. එහෙත්, එම මුදලට සාපේක්ෂ වටිනා කමක් ඇත.
එම මුදල කල්නොයවා රටවැසියන්ගේ බදු මුදලින්, ගෙවීමට තරම් පොලිස්පති ශීලාචාර වනු ඇතැයිද යන්න බලා සිටිමු.
“ධම්මෝ රක්ඛති ධර්මචාරී” – හොඳ පැටිකිරියක් ඇති පොලිස් සුනඛයින්ට සීමා නොවනු ඇතැයි සිතමු.
