හජ් දින පණිවුඩය

මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රජාතාන්ත්‍රික සමාජවාදී ජනරජයේ අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය
පරිත්‍යාගය හා සාමූහිකත්වයට මුල්තැන දෙමින් අද දින ඊද් උල් අල්හා හෙවත් හජ් උත්සවය සමරන ලොව පුරා ඉස්ලාම් බැතිමතුන්ට මාගේ සුබපැතුම් එක් කරමි.
ඉස්ලාම් ආගමේ පදනම වැටී ඇති පංචස්තම්බ වලින් එකක් වන්නේ හජ් වන්දනාවයි.
කායික හා ආර්ථිකමය වශයෙන් හැකියාවක් තිබෙන සෑම ඉස්ලාම් බැතිමතෙක්ම සිය ආයු කාලය තුළ දී එක්වරක් හෝ හජ් වන්දනාවේ නිරතවිය යුතුබව විශ්වාසයයි.
ලොවපුරා විසිරී සිටින ලක්ෂ සංඛ්‍යාත ඉස්ලාම් බැතිමතුන් එකම අරමුණක බැඳී එකම පූජා භූමියකට රැස් ව මනුෂ්‍යත්වයේ අපේක්ෂාව වන සාමූහිකත්වයේ අගය ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරනුයේ හජ් වන්දනාව තුළිනි.
ඒ අනුව ගත් කළ සමාජීය සහජීවනයේ මහිමය ලෝක ප්‍රජාවට සන්නිවේදනය කරන ප්‍රමුඛ ආගමික උත්සවයක් ලෙස හජ් උත්සවය හැඳින්විය හැකිය.
කොවිඩ් – 19 වසංගතය හේතුවෙන් පසුගිය වර්ෂයේ මෙන්ම මෙවරත් ඉස්ලාම් බැතිමතුන්ට මක්කම ගොස් හජ් වන්දනාවේ යෙදීමට ඇති ඉඩකඩ ඇහිරී තිබේ.
සාමය, සහෝදරත්වය සමානාත්මතාවය අගය කරන හජ් දින සුබ ප්‍රාර්ථනාවන්ට එමගින් බාධාවක් නොවන බව මාගේ විශ්වාසයයි.
දේවස්ථානවල සාමූහිකව රැස්වී සිදුකරන සම්ප්‍රදායික ආගමික කටයුතු මෙවර සිදු නොකරන ලෙසට සෞඛ්‍ය අංශ විසින් ලබා දී ඇති උපදෙස් වලට අනුගත වෙමින් කොවිඩ්-19 වසංගතය ලොවින් තුරන් කරන්නට අප සැම එක්ව තිර අධිෂ්ඨානයෙන් කටයුතු කළ යුතුය.
ඉස්ලාමීය මඟපෙන්වීම් ද නිසි අයුරින් අනුගමනය කරමින් ලෝකවාසී ජනතාවම කෙටි කලක් ඇතුළත කොවිඩ් වසංගතයෙන් මුදා දෙන්නැයි අද වැනි උතුම් දිනෙක අල්ලාහ් දෙවියන්ගෙන් අයැද සිටිමු.
ඔබගේ සියලු යහක්‍රියා අල්ලාහ් දෙවියන් විසින් පිළිගනිත්වා යන්න අපගේ ද ප්‍රාර්ථනයයි.
විවිධ ජාතීන් අතර සුහඳත්වය සහ සංහිදියාව සිහිපත්කරන හජ් උත්සවයේ පරමාර්ථ යථාර්ථයක් බවට පත්වන, ප්‍රීතිමත් ඊද් උල් අල්හා උත්සවයක් වේවා! යැයි සහෝදර ඉස්ලාම් බැතිමතුන් සියලුදෙනාට මම සුබ ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමි.

Condemn Animal Sacrifice in the Hadj Festival
Sri Lanka’s leaders have a primary duty, prior to issuing Messages of Good Wishes and Greetings on occasions of Festivals of ethnic and religious minorities, to take into consideration the sensitivities of the majority Buddhist to unholy and un Buddhistic practices of other religions.
The Hadj Festival is a graveyard for millions of innocent animals all over the world. Using the most twisted logic an innocent animal e.g., goat, sheep, cow, camel etc. is killed as a sacrificial offering to ‘ God’ in the absurd expectation that the owner of the animal can obtain a heavenly reward from his ‘ God’ for the sacrifice. It is the animal that forfeits its precious life. But the one who raises his hand for the reward is the cruel owner who loses nothing and does not part with anything that is a vital part of his life or limb.
The Buddha condemned Animal Sacrifice. The Buddha said:
“What love can a man possess who believes that the destruction of life alone will atone for evil deeds? Can a new wrong expiate old wrongs? And can the slaughter of an innocent victim blot out the evil deeds of mankind? This is practicing religion by the neglect of moral conduct. Purify your hearts and cease to kill; that is true religion.
“Rituals have no efficacy; prayers are vain repetitions; and incantations have no saving power. But to abandon covetousness and lust, to become free from evil passions and to give up all hatred and ill will, that is the right sacrifice and the true worship.”
Our national leaders must follow the Buddha’s path and condemn animal sacrifice. Not praise religious festivals like Hadj to appease the Muslims despite knowing very well that Animal Sacrifice which is integral to Hadj is antithetical to the Buddha’s teachings.
