High prevalence of HIV among school and university students

According to the National STD/AIDS Control Programme sexually transmitted diseases including HIV are spreading more among school and university students.

Dr. Rasanjali Hettiarachchi, director of the programme, stated to the correspondents, this situation is mostly reported from the districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Kandy.

She also said, in the first five months of this year , 68 young women and girls have been infected with sexually transmitted diseases including HIV.
