Startling disclosures: Two former VIPs have US$ 1 billion in Dubai bank.

http://www.sundaytimes.lk/150322/columns/startling-disclosures-two-former-vips-have-us-1-billion-in-dubai-bank-141106.html

Fine. Simple Solution. Deploy Stolen Assets Recovery Initiative (StAR)

——“The StAR is a partnership between the World Bank Group and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNIDOC) that supports international efforts to end safe havens for corrupt funds. It works with developing countries and financial centres to prevent the laundering of the proceeds of corruption and to facilitate more systematic and timely return of stolen assets.”—— http://www.sundaytimes.lk/150322/columns/startling-disclosures-two-former-vips-have-us-1-billion-in-dubai-bank-141106.html

Furthermore, Parallel, SLG may raise a Court Order to retrieve UAE Bank disclosures.

On to the next…….Whilst the Top Fat Cats are playing their Power Games, who is keeping an eye on the National Security?

With ISIS moving rapidly in Afghanistan – Iraq – Syria – Libya, it is alleged that several hundred European Muslim converts are now entered into EU.

Parallel, The political unrest in Maldives is now being planned by ISIS to make their next move, most likely with LTTE, with the objective of targeting entry into Sri Lanka. If & when this occurs, which country will help Maldives to combat ISIS? ……India? …..Sri Lanka? ……Any other options

Some of my friends who follow LankaWeb, expressed their interest to know the newest Power Struggle between My3 & RW.

The Executive Presidential powers on Defense, Finance, over Parliament and forecast on desperate actions RW might get up to if a sudden terrorist movement erupts!

Right now the current government acts like a Headless Chicken as well as a Triple Headed Donkey!

Should LTTE-ISIS enters into the fray, it is very likely that the forth coming Parliamentary elections might be postponed indefinitely, since that will give RW the opportunity to extend his tenure.  This might open opportunity to Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka to move-in with a military option!

Dont laugh!

To address a few points-;

douglas Says:

March 22nd, 2015 at 5:03 amRe UPFRONT Payment:

Yes, it was demanded by Sri Lanka representative, who claimed that a UNP Parliamentarian fronted the political maneuverings with government decision makers, demanded the upfront-payment. This person is now appointed as Deputy Minister!

With you Prof in all you state above, except for the State religion bit. Religion & State do not mix well.

Fran – As a Catholic myself, I have an open philosophy. Sri Lanka being a majority Buddhist country, and in my opinion, generally Buddhist followers have maintained peace, it is better to have harmony, with multi-Faith tolerance, than to have an American style No Creed.

Cerberus Says:

March 20th, 2015 at 8:07 amYou have made valid points.

Lorenzo Says:

March 20th, 2015 at 2:09 pmYou express doubts about both MS & MR ignoring the points listed.

In politics, U-turns are a way of life. MR has hopefully learnt a lesson.

However, regarding a possible or potential Coup-de-Etat, does Sri Lanka got any potential Leader, who will take care of the Till?

You dont mean the newly elevated Field Marshall (?) Sarath Fonseka might be a Candidate? ……. I reserve my comments.

ISIS and ISIL have lot weight to those words.

Because of that it it called DAESH.

  2. Lorenzo Says:

While we complain against the STUPIDITY and TREASON of the govt. we should not forget about the GOOD.

Jihad HACK-HIM, LTTE KARUNA and ENDIAN THONDA are nobodies in My3 govt. They were given JUNK ministries only. They are NO LONGER kingmakers.

Under MR these people had BIG ministries. Remember?

Current SEWAGE MINISTER Jihad Hack-him was MR’s justice minister!!

This is ONE good thing of a national govt. It makes Jihad and LTTE jokers useless junk.

  3. Nimal Says:

As long as we keep religion, creed, cast, race and even silly history out of state affairs and run the country just like in UK then no MF ing ISIS or any other s**it heads would ever interfere or invade the island. With the amude clad mentality the country is venerable. Get some Brit ex Army and Police to settle and give them some responsibility to help the country to defend, above all with the very poor infrastructure..
We are somewhat lucky to defat the rag tag bunch of terrorists who have never being outside the daramadeepaya, reason for being a bit unsophisticated. From what I see in UK,the ex cadres or sympathizers have lived long in the Western countries to be more focused and sophisticated and should they ever come back to the island then they may give us a lot of bother.
This is why the terrorists like the ISIS is keen to recruit the young from the West as they could be trained well in a short time and will be more efficient.
In our case in the island our troopers who are from the villages will just be cannon fodder and this is why we must get our culture in the island to be more sophisticated, seriously in line with the sophisticated Western countries and Israel is the exception to this rule as they are fighting for their very existence and the holocaust is a stark reminder, not to be slack.

  4. SA Kumar Says:

When will Mr Sampanthan TNA NP become opposition leader !!!

  5. Charles Says:

Susantha Take care those words my be accepted as insultive and you will be debarred from making comments- That is what happened to Ananda-USA

  6. Lorenzo Says:

    Charles,

I don’t think anyone has debarred Ananda-USA. He is not commenting or updating in ANY of his forums. He had a few websites and all have come to a standstill.

  7. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

CHARLES !!! I have had great respect for you and your articles. In fact, when you said you were from Wattegame, I do remember telling you to visit V S Nadar and Co, opposite the Police Station and say Hi ! to SUBRA from me.

Now you are making a feeble attempt to get into the Moderators shoes. The moderators act very judiciously. They will take care if Iam going at a tangent.

  8. Independent Says:

    Lorenzo,
He has probably run out of money as his client is on the run. Unlike us he is not being moderated but as he could not dictate his own terms , he is angry.

  9. Fran Diaz Says:

Friends, please don’t have fights. We need all of us together to keep hammeiring home the sane truths of the events, expose them all, the absurdities and the truth of matters.

Truth wins, however long it takes.

  10. douglas Says:

Dear Prof: Thank you for confirming my comment. You say now the person, I suppose the “GO BETWEEN” of that deal is now a Deputy Minister. You took so much time to realize that; but we in Sri Lanka saw how that developed beyond leaps and bounds since 2010. When this “CONGLOMERATE” was building, some of the die hard, SLFP life long members cautioned Mr. MR and they were all “brushed” aside like dirt. No one can say, that Mr MR did not know what was going on. He knew it very well and not only that as things went on and gathered momentum, he was also made a “partner” in silence. Of course, they; meaning all those “partners” in action, both in the UNP and the ruling UPFA saw to it that such “deals” of various sizes, running into “millions” and “billions” were put through with precision and all the precautions taken so that no one could that easily lay hands on it. That is the “problem” we have now. It is becoming from “possible” to “IMPOSSIBLE” because the parties to these MEGA deals have once again formed that “CONGLOMERATE”. That fact is amply proved and known to all of us in Srl Lanka as well as those of you spread the world over who are taking a little time to understand and would eventually know it too. One clue you have already got; when you said that “GO BETWEEN” in relation to your project is presently a “DEPUTY MINISTER”. What more PROOF you need? Mr. MR laid that FOUNDATION and that “CONGLOMERATE” is functioning very well even now. What hopes and action, we poor guys could have and do? That is the guidance you Sri Lanka lovers must offer. Please understand this situation without “worshiping” people.

  11. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

HUDSON !! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ‘ However, Do Not Jump into Conclusions in Haste.’ ? I will put your apology on hold till you clear the aforesaid.

It is evident that you were looking for a Cats Paw. Not Me anyway. A professor surely, cannot CUT AND PASTE somebody else’s name erratically, for his own pronouncement. Strange, eh ?

  12. Lorenzo Says:

    Independent,

Had he listened to you and clamed down his health would not have suffered.

One of the BEST things of Buddhism and even non-Buddhists should admire is KEEPING CALM. Why cling on to CHANGING THINGS in this ever uncertain life!

  13. Charles Says:

    Susantha

Nadar’s shop was burnt during the riots of 1983. No one was hurt. But they eventually sold the property and left. They were from South India. There are two other shops built at the place Nadars had theirs.

I was not trying to moderate but I still feel sorry that Ananda-USA is out.

  14. douglas Says:

Though this comment is out of the subject matter, I wish to say something of Ananda-USA as his name has come up many a times here. The way his comments on this web developed, especially after the elections, I knew very well he is going to attain that ENLIGHTENMENT soon. He is now a Buddha filled with Mettha, Karuna and Muditha – all self attained. So why feel “sorry” for him? We must celebrate his achievements.

  15. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

CHARLES !!! Iam sorry to hear that. If I remember right, one of Subras brother got burnt upstairs.

Me too, Sorry Ananda is out. Another commenter said he has stopped writing, as somebody has insulted him.

FRAN !!! Finally truth prevailed, but the apology came with an uncalled for rub. Moderator has accepted the apology, but I believe he would delete the “RUB”***the last line. Else the apology is invalid, and negates by itself.

With you Prof in all you state above, except for the State religion bit. Religion & State do not mix well.”

I must reiterate that Religion (any religion) and State do not mix well. The State will, sooner or later, make mockery of any religion, as proved in Europe and other places, over and over again.

Re the Economy which is the main bug in the ointment of any govt of Lanka :

I like the Bhutanese (Bhutan a Buddhist country) leaders statement that he would like to measure his country’s wealth in terms of Gross National Happiness, and not GDP !
Sri Lanka is a small nation and cannot produce huge amounts of goods as done by mega corporations to be consumed locally mostly. Lanka has to go with mid size and small enterprises in keeping with the market available. Small is Beautiful
(Schumacher) is a good way to go.

    Susantha,

Truth Wins will come our way ! Watch the magic unfold.

  17. Fran Diaz Says:

    Susantha,

Another thought: I think Prof was ‘pulling your leg’ a bit when he said that tall story ! Probably his response to your stories about Themis etc ?
    Prof can respond.

  18. Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

FRAN !!! ARE YOU TRYING TO DRAG A SORDID EPISODE.? CASE CLOSED.

  19. Fran Diaz Says:

    Susantha,

Sorry. Didn’t mean to offend you in anyway. Just trying to understand friends in this forum.

Yes, case closed. Good wishes to all !
