Reading Between the Lines – Cross-Cultural Jargon

Nearly all my contributions to LankaWeb were generally accepted by majority of the readership.

A few became obnoxious, impolite, way-out-of-civility. Simple minds of a few readers are unable to Read-between-the-Lines!

My last contribution….. National Government – Sealing the Motor-Mouths?

The point is, I am following several opinions from many countries outside Sri Lanka, and some of them do hold a prejudiced negative opinion of the Sri Lankan politicians in general, and Mahinda Rajapaksa in particular.

Some of them are 100% behind the Tamil cause and do not care if the LTTE barges in with or without heavy baggage like ISIS, with their head-chopping blades. There is an anti-Chinese element, mainly due to fear.

The fact that Chinese moved in with their money-machine, like the Chinese have virtually taken-over Africa, has upset both USA & Indians. Sri Lanka is a huge strategic Prize-to-Lose! For that particular reason, My3 Sirisena was invented, which solved many simple problems, like giving India a foot-up.

However, any Political-savvy operator could see that the entire “house-of-cards” on Sri Lanka politics only needs a mild South-Easterly wind. Need no details on this matter.

The elevation of General Sarath Fonseka to hold the Baton of a FM was not an idea from RW or CBK. The “odd-couple” do not think this far…

Fonseka was quite satisfied regaining his brass buttons back with the title of General. And of course the Pension with No questions asked about his son-in-law.

The brain-wave of Field Marshall was flown-in from a foreign power, by selling RW-CBK to gloat that a FM title will keep Fonseka away, from “pissing-inside-the-tent”. ……. Get the Drift? RW-CBK must have been having Moet-et-Chandon after hearing that. Both are upper-class snobs.

The foreign brain-wave read deeper into the minds of the two old politicos RW-CBK, who will definitely be “put-out-to-grass” when the Parliamentary elections results are announced.

It is a done-deal that RW will no longer reside at Temple Trees. MR will one-way-or-the-other creep in between the lovely Araliya trees, and then only the proverbial “the-sh*t-will-hit-the-fan”! There is bound to be a massive commotion between the warring parties; UNP-SLFP-UPFA-JVP. Possible riots amongst the Sinhala-Sinhala which will open the opportunity to LTTE-ISIS to move-in with speed.

The Terrorism will take a new dimension without actual manpower moving. The quad-rotor UAV Drones will do most of the damage. The Moratuwa University failed in their experiment due to lack of both Software & Funding.

There is only one leader with military credibility, a Sinhala Giant, who understands the entire geo-politics as a soldier, Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka! The Defense machinery most likely will accept Field Marshall as the leader who is competent to “put-out-the-flames”, as he did before.

Sri Lankan Sinhela will accept him as a Saviour. India will keep-out.

As before credible support will emerge from China – Pakistan – Israel. And Israel has the best Military UAV-Drone Technology available today! Both USA-EU-China-Russia and the rest will Wait & Watch.

This makes the coming Parliamentary Election so important to have a clear mandate to whoever comes out as winner!

In a civilized country a politician such as the president will not seek another chance to come to power when he was defeated.RW had set a bad precedence, though he is a capable person having no support from the people, thus his party not got the required number of seats to form a government.
Coming back for more is unacceptable, just like the former Ugandan Prez, who was the ‘field marshal’ was a freak wanted to rule for life, never did any thing for the country and that goes for some in our country as well, where our politicians dress up like jokers deceive the people and live a high life, most probably abroad.

  2. NAK Says:

Nimal,if you don’t like once lost President to come back you can vote against him,but don’t come preaching. Only a hypocrite can say that while praising the born loser RW. What is RW capable of other than messing up what others have done?

Prof. H.M,Moratuwa university did not fail in their experiment but our government failed them by not accomodating that project, but thay will continue and looking for a market.
I also felt some foul smell in making SF a FM which was totally uncalled for but SF is not a popular person capable of doing any considerable harm. As usual those who write the agenda as they did with Sirisen has chosen a lame horse.

    NAK,
If I am Ranil and was defeated once as a PM then I would resign with dignity as the leader and seek a back bench position but no as a PM.
Follow the traditions of the Westminster without being arrogant as it is the best that is going around at present.
The way Ranil spoke for the country on that interview was impressive but on principle he should not seek the position of the PM.
I am not sure what MR was, though I was an ardent supporter didn’t see any good other than winning the war that is the duty of any leader to see to the 30year carnage. Just like in UK Churchill was defeated in the following election, not because be defeated the enemy in the war, because he wasn’t good as peacetime PM.
We must follow the traditions and practices of countries that are progressive, where people feel comfortable. When things were going wrong we tried to bring to the attention of the people in command but they were not listening and paid the price. We had a lot of flack from the grass roots, especially at Badulla.
