Sri Lanka's key inflation rate eased to 66 per cent in October after hitting 69.8 per cent in September, the crisis-struck country's statistics department said on Monday. ’ICE’ usage among schoolgirls, young women rise steadily
There is a new trend of increasing use of synthetic drugs known as ICE (methamphetamine crystals) among girls, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) said. I first wrote on wind power when in india I had to face power cuts. Then Sri lanka never had power cuts. We spent funds found on loans to buy coal and oil to provide electricity. New fraud hits Sri Lankans by storm, over 8,000 people lose billions
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has launched an investigation into a new financial fraud which so far has involved Rs.14 billion with 8,000 people being victims in a fake crypto currency scheme. The government is to commence operations at the chemical factory in Paranthan immediately, Plantation Industries and Industries Minister Ramesh Pathirana said. While paying an inspection visit to the factory area, he said the factory initiated its chemical manufacturing process in 1954 with the use of liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, zinc chloride, and ferric chloride as raw materials. Sri Lanka cuts tax on female hygiene products
Colombo (AFP) – Sri Lanka's government on Sunday cut taxes on female sanitary products in a bid to help women and girls unable to afford them because of the country's economic crisis. Chinese fertilizer controversy: Audit report recommends prosecuting officials involved
The special audit report by National Audit Office on the controversial procurement of 96,000 metric tons of organic fertilizer from a Chinese supplier reveals that the Sri Lankan government has incurred a lost to the tune of Rs. 1,382 million in the process.
